how to assemble
KalmDen is partially assembled with the base and short end panels installed for you. The easiest way to assemble your KalmDen is to follow the order below:
Unzip the bag pockets and insert the panel by gently pushing it into the pocket.
Push the panel into the pocket. Once the panel is fully inserted, close the zip.
Align the panel vents with the roof vents and gently squeeze the panel past the zip.
Introduce your pet to their KalmDen and you're ready to go.

We’ve been using the KalmDen for a while now, and it has become Bruno’s new favourite safe space. Whenever the house gets too overwhelming, he goes inside to calm down. One of the things I noticed straight away is how enclosed and cosy the carrier feels. The padded interior helped Chobe feel protected and less overwhelmed by the outside noise and it seems to have made a real difference to his confidence.
We use the carrier at home in between trips so he sees it as his safe space. He loves to curl up inside it under my home office desk. I have added his own blanket so it smells familiar and feels like his own little space, which means he's much calmer when it's time to travel. There's enough space for his favourite toy and our other dog who also wanted in on the action!

No and this was never the goal of KalmDen. Depriving a dog of the ability to use any of its finely tuned senses can in itself cause stress. Sound deprivation in particular can cause significant confusion and therefore heighten stress. KalmDen’s only aim is to absorb sound once it has entered, preventing it from bouncing off the walls like an echoing canyon. Being in a KalmDen does not sound like being inside a chiming bell surrounded by chaotic noise. In a KalmDen, sound enters and dies. Practically, your dog will be in a calmer acoustic environment where there is no perceptible acoustic echo or tail. Noise will have a greater sense of direction because it isn’t echoing off the walls. Therefore your dog will be aware of what noise is present, where it is coming from but they can still hear their own breathing.
The maximum weight of any dog (or cat) that can use KalmDen is 10kgs. The opening is 33cm high and 21 cm wide. The bag has an internal height of 33cm, an internal width of 33cm and an internal length of 55cm. Please note KalmDen is only suitable for transporting dogs and cats, it is unsuitable for any other pet. It is unsuitable for transporting any dangerous or aggressive dog or cat. KalmDen suits small dogs up to 10kg. As a guide: many Chihuahuas, Dachshunds,Yorkshire Terriers, Toy and Miniature Poodles, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Maltese and
similar small breeds fall within this range — but weight varies by individual, not just breed, so it's the number on the scale that matters, not the breed name. To check fit, measure your dog nose-to-tail-base and add a few centimetres, and their standing height at the shoulder — both comfortably clear the internal dimensions at this weight range. Frenchies, Pugs, and Bichons often weigh more than 10kgs, so please weigh yours to be sure.
No, KalmDen has not been designed to be used on any airline and should not be used to transport your pet on an airline. We are working on a new design that will be suitable for airline use.
KalmDen’s exterior is a robust 1680D PVC and may be cleaned using a damp cloth and mild detergent. Please air dry. Please do not Dry clean, Machine wash or Tumble dry.
The RPet felt panels may be removed and cleaned using a damp cloth and mild detergent. Please air dry before inserting them back into their pockets. Please note the fitting is tight and care must be taken when taking the panels in and out. Please do not Dry clean, Machine wash or Tumble dry.
The internal lining of KalmDen is a cotton canvas and may be cleaned using a damp cloth and mild detergent. Please air dry.
